God’s Hidden Ones
Psalm 83:3 – “They have taken crafty counsel against Your people, and consulted against Your hidden ones.”
a people set apart, guarded, and protected in ways the world cannot fathom.
The Bible calls them “His hidden ones.”
These are not forgotten people. They are preserved people—concealed for purpose, surrounded by presence,
and held in the hollow of His hand. To be hidden by God is not to be overlooked; it is divine protection, divine
positioning, and divine preparation. It is the spiritual assurance that
“our life is hid with Christ in God” (Colossians 3:3).
For those navigating warfare, transition, uncertainty, or deep spiritual development, this truth becomes a resting
place for the soul: God Himself has hidden you.
Hidden From Outward Foes
Throughout history, darkness has always opposed the people of God. Yet even when the enemy schemes, his efforts
are frustrated—because God hides His own. The world, the flesh, and the devil may plot, but their reach is limited
by the hand of the Almighty.
Even when God permits a foe to come near, it becomes nothing more than a means of blessing. What appears as an attack
becomes an assignment for angels. What seems like danger becomes divine protection in disguise. God’s hiding place turns
the enemy’s attempt into the believer’s advantage.
When God hides you, the enemy cannot touch the purpose marked upon your life.
Hidden in Afflictive Circumstances
We often assume those God hides should be exempt from hardship, but Scripture paints another picture. God does not always
hide us from affliction—He hides us in it. Not to harm, but to preserve.
This was the mystery of Job. Though the fires and storms of life reached him, his soul remained protected. His integrity
remained intact. His destiny remained secure.
God’s hiding is not the absence of trouble—it is His presence in the midst of it.
Hidden from Personal Frailty
One of the most merciful aspects of God’s hiding is how He shields us from ourselves—our weaknesses, tendencies,
and unformed areas of character. Left unchecked, these could become destructive forces. But the Lord gathers us
into His “secret place,” covering our unworthiness while shaping our destiny.
He guards the calling while He matures the vessel.
How safe we are when we realize He even hides us from the parts of ourselves we have yet to surrender!
Hidden in Obscurity
The world does not recognize God’s hidden ones. It didn’t recognize Christ either. Jesus lived, ministered, and died largely
uncelebrated by the world at the time—but Heaven knew exactly who He was.
God often conceals His greatest work until the appointed time. If you have ever felt unseen or overlooked, your season is
not punishment—it is protection. Obscurity is where God:
- Builds strength
- Develops purity
- Releases revelation
- Protects purpose
You are hidden, not discarded. Concealed, not denied. Prepared, not passed over.
The Blessings of Being Hidden
1. Safety & Protection
Those who dwell in the secret place of the Most High abide under His shadow (Psalm 91). The hidden ones live under divine
coverage.
2. The Love of the Father
There is a special tenderness and covering reserved for His hidden ones. They walk through life with the assurance that
God’s eye is always upon them.
3. Unshakable Security
When God hides you, no weapon formed can prosper, no scheme can advance, and no force of hell can uproot what God has
established.
Where This Truth Should Lead Us
1. To a Deeper Love for God
To be hidden is to be deeply loved. Revelation of His hiding should draw us into a deeper intimacy and gratitude.
2. To Stay in the Secret Place
Remain where He has placed you—under His wing, under His counsel, under His covering. Do not trade the secret place
for the applause of people.
3. To Lay Down Fear and Anxiety
What can truly threaten the one hidden in God? Fear loses its grip when we realize who is keeping us.
4. To Boldly Confess God’s Love
Hidden ones walk with a holy confidence in God’s faithfulness. Their testimony becomes a living declaration of His keeping power.
5. To Bring Others Into the Hiding Place
Every hidden one becomes a guide for souls seeking refuge in the Father. We are not hidden to hoard safety; we are hidden
to help others find it.
You Are One of God’s Hidden Ones
If you have ever felt set apart… preserved… protected in ways that defy explanation… or carried through seasons that
should have broken you—then you are one of God’s hidden ones.
This is not elitism, but intimacy. Not isolation, but divine safeguarding. Not dismissal, but destiny.
Rest in this truth today: You are hidden in Him, loved by Him, and guarded for a purpose that hell cannot destroy
and the world cannot erase.
Scripture Reflection: Dwelling in the Secret Place
“For in the time of trouble He shall hide me in His pavilion; in the secret place of His tabernacle He shall hide me;
He shall set me high upon a rock.” – Psalm 27:5 (NKJV)
“For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.” – Colossians 3:3 (NKJV)
Reflect and Respond
- Where have you seen God hide you?
Think of a time when you were protected, preserved, or spared in a way you could not explain.
Thank Him for that moment of covering. - Are you in a season of obscurity?
Instead of seeing it as rejection, ask the Holy Spirit to show you what He is developing in you while you are hidden. - What fears do you need to surrender?
Lay specific fears at the feet of Jesus and declare: “My life is hidden with Christ in God. I am not exposed—I am covered.”
A Prayer for God’s Hidden Ones
Father, I thank You that You are my hiding place. When the enemy plots, when circumstances shake, and when my own heart feels weak,
You surround me with songs of deliverance. Teach me to dwell in Your secret place, to rest under Your shadow, and to trust
the seasons where You have chosen to hide and prepare me. I receive the truth that my life is hidden with Christ in You.
Strengthen my faith, quiet my fears, and use my life for Your glory. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
